People afflicted with rare or orphan disorders often suffer from social isolation due to lack of public awareness of their conditions. Those from poor families suffer worse due to scarcity of information and lack of access to quality medical treatment. The Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders or PSOD aims to uphold the primary concern and welfare of individuals with rare disorders by directly addressing, supporting and protecting their health and general well-being by giving access to life saving medicines and therapies.

With limited resources in the Philippines for orphan disorders, PSOD partnered with Ayala Foundation USA to gain support from generous donors to enable patients with rare disorders have access to life saving medicines and other forms of treatment.
